If I see a problem, but do not speak out about it, I am complicit in that problem, in a way. If you see a wrong, you should act to fix it, in my way of thinking. Without government and taxes, if my house caught on fire, it would be pretty much up to me and my waterhose to take care of the problem. But with government, and taxes, we get to pick up the phone and dial 911, and we have people who come and haul away our trash, and we have all sorts of positive things that simply could not function if we didn't have government to make it so. I'm interested about the concept of exceptions...what do you mean by this? I agree that the government has issues – but I also believe that the concept of government is good. It drives me nuts when people say one thing, but then act another way entirely. For a guy to say that he wouldn't let his daughter work at Hooters, but then go in and spend money there - that just speaks volumes about what he thinks about the world, doesn't it?
